Chkdsk doesn't run on reboot.

When I set chkdsk to fix errors and reboot, it doesn't run. Windows just
starts up normally. I've just reinstalled Windows 2000 and have everything
from Windows Update installed. Are there any common causes of chkdsk not
running on reboot that I could check?
