chinese characters

When I exit "mspaint" I get the button asking if I want to save my file. At
least that's what I think it says. It shows a yellow triangle with a black "
! " in the middle. Then it says "untitled" followed by chinese characters.
Under this it has the buttons for Yes-No-Cancel
I'm running WinXP.
Does anyone know why this occurs and how do I get it back to English? I seem
to remember seeing an answer to this a very long time ago.
Thanks for any help.

buddy:
It's looks like a virus, I recommend you that reinstall your windows,
or just unistall mspaint, and then, reinstall it.
It's happen to me before, but with word, I just uninstaled, and
reintaled it

Hi,

If you read the thread in the link below, there are some files you
should check out.

In the C:\Windows\System32 folder:
xpsp1res.dll and xpsp2res.dll

Search the system for any files named mfc42loc.dll

I looked for the files and they are on the computer. Under properties it
shows them to be Microsoft files. I also tried the suggestion from Kelly and
that didn't work either. I had done a restore on my computer about a week ago
and this started from then. I ran two different anti-virus programs and don't
show any viruses. Also I ran Spybot and Spyblaster.
Still the same results :(
