Cheque alignment in Quicken

We used Quicken 2000 for 2 years on a Win 98 pc to run
our company cash book and print cheques on a Star LC24
dot matrix printer. The cheques were standard Quicken
continuous voucher cheques. We upgraded all our PCs to XP
SP1 and found that we couldn't align cheques any more.
The system seem to assume a much larger cheque size than
we actually had ie the page drop is quite wrong. We
upgraded Quicken to XG. Same problem. I installed an OKI
520 printer. That's worse and just spews out pages of
blank sheets with the odd character on.
Doing the 'bypass driver' option in Quicken on the Star
printer helps but the sample cheque that prints is too
wide and wraps and that thows the alignment out again.
Quicken support were no help. Any ideas ??

Although MS has provided XP drivers for a reasonably large number of
printers, those drivers -- especially for older, no longer
sold/supported ones -- are very basic, and often do not implement any
printer features beyond the absolute minimum required to print. Your
best option would be to go to the website of the printer manufacturer
(Star or Oki) and see if they have an XP driver for your model. If no
luck there, try http://www.driverguide.com/
If you do find an XP driver somewhere, see
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm#LexmarkDriver
for steps you should take to remove the old drivers before installing
the new ones.
