checking my vista version

ok ive downloaded a vista version from p2p site. iam unsure if it is pre rc1
or rc1. how can i find out?

btw i have signed up for rc1. i have my keycode. but couldn't download it
from ms site, must be server overload.

Click the Start Orb and type winver in the Start Search box and hit Enter.
Pre-RC1 is build 5536. RC1 is build 5600. You can also see this by simply
looking in the lower right of your desktop.

version I have? I may be misconstruing it... and I don't know the answer
anyway... lol.

The version is part of the name string of the download file. As in
"vista_5728.16387.060917-1430_x86fre_client-LRMCFRE_EN_DVD"
which you may download from
http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/rc1/en/download-5728.htm
as of a couple of hours ago!
