Check Disk Problem

When I attempt to run "Check Disk" on C: Drive using
WindowsXP Home, I get the following message while
rebooting instead of a Disk Check: NTFS file
system... "Windows cannot open Volume for direct access."
Before reboot I check following Disk Options in
C:>Properties>Tools>Error-checking: 1. Automatically fix
file system errors, and 2. Scan for an attempt recovery
of bad sectors. I've done a restore, then retry, same
problem. Never had problem before. How can I get Check
Disk to work again?

Go to Start/run type in cmd, hit enter, type in chkdsk /f (noting space)
It should run after reboot.

And if that does not work uninstall Zone alarm 5. Check out the zone alarm
site and notice boards.

Richard.

Uninstall ZoneAlarm 5 and reinstall the previous version.

IT WORKED: Uninstalling ZoneAlarm 5 worked. I also
reinstalled ZoneAlarm 4.5 after rebooting and running
Check Disk. Thanks to Alan, Richard and Ken. Eliminated
my frustration. A bunch of GREAT guys.
