Check boxes stopped working

I have been using a database for many years without a hitch. All of a sudden
the checkboxes on a form stopped working. The form is used to update
invoices that are being paid by checking the 'invoicePD' checkbox which then
inserts today's date in a field called 'InvoiceDatePD.' A command button on
the form would then check the math (amount) of the invoices checked off.
That window has stopped working also.

I checked the underlying table and the checkbox fields work. I checked the
underlying query, and the checkboxes do not work. I imported and the forms
and queries involved from a known-good, archived database and the problem
persisted. I am at a loss as to what is causing this to happen. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

This may or may not help, but one of my clients said three of their computers
started getting a lot of application errors all at the same time, but it was
not company wide. I discovered that while most computers had Updates
automatically downloaded, these three did not. After nearly a full day of
Windows and Office updates, the three computers started functioning properly
with the database.

I seem to find that some MS updates will break key things, and I have to
manually find more updates to fix them. In this case, I tested the database
after each set of updates (.NET frameworks, updates to those, security
updates, etc.) and it was only after WinXP Service Pack 3 and Office 03
Service Pack 3 did everything go back to normal.

So I would suggest perhaps going to Microsoft Update and seeing what comes
up for critical and recommended updates. Depending on what your operating
system is and what Office you have, you might need to do some updates.

Otherwise, I'm sure one of the experts would ask for more details on the
form, functionality, etc.
