cheap trick

It was a cheap trick of Microsoft to make XP home edition so that it
couldn't run personal web server. Now all of us who have been using VC++,
VB, and now .Net without owning a SERVER can't even use the web components
of the software we paid for.

Microsoft is getting chaotic in it's luxury.Too many "little people"
creeping into high places.

Ah... but you can now pay M$ for the priveledge of owning server software or
one of their affiliates for hosting web space......

Life is just full of opportunities, just look under the Visual Studio Online
resources!!! (note the sarcasm here...)

The only saving grace is that you can actually use notepad.net to edit your
webpages and ftp them to your favourite free web hosting supplier.....

Well, you could have read the fine print... Most people
actually compare the different versions of software
before making a purchase...

BTW.. You don't need to go and get a server OS.. Just
pick up XP Professional.. Works great for development..

XP home edition is for the average home user who does not do development
or host web sites. that what professional is for. hosting a web site on
your pc is not exactly recommened for the average joe

Its rare you will actually need netmon for development. If you need
something akin to that you can find open source packet analyzers.
