Changing the Excel Icon

Is there any way to change the desktop icon for Excel? I want to change it
from the standard icon to a picture of a pickle jar (don't ask why). Is this
possible? I have seen how to change the icon in the upper left when the
document is open but I want to change the actual desktop icon for the
workbook, like I have done so easily with my Mac. Any help is much
appreciated. Thanks!

You can not easily change the icon of the actual XL file (nor in my opinion
do you want to). Create a short cut on your desk top -> Right click the short
cut and on the Sort Cut tab there is an option to change the icon...

My Computer>Tools>Folder Options>File Types

Scroll down to XLS and Advanced>Change Icon

Browse to Windows>System32 and double-click on shell32.dll

I don't know if this file contains a pickle jar but there are many Icons to
choose from.

If nothing you like try another *.dll file like shell.dll
