Changing Tab pages fires Before and After Update Events

Hi,

I have a problem in that changing between the Tab control pages fires
the forms Before Update and After Update events (and actually save the
form) if the page being tabbed to contains a subform linked to the main
form.

I do not want this to happen. can somebody advise me how to prevent
this

Thanks

Access saves the main form record whenever you tab into the subform, whether
changing tab pages or not.

That makes sense when you think about it. Typically a subform contains
records related to the record in the main form. If you just entered the main
form record, it has to be saved before you can create related records in the
subform. You can't created related records, if the record they are supposed
to be related to is not saved yet.

Thanks Allen - I guessed this may have been the case. Interesting
though that Access does not do the same when using linked forms.
