Changing System Clock without corrupting appointment times

D

Don Cole

My computer was set up on the east coast and appointments
were entered for up to two years in advance.

The computer was moved to the west coast and additional
appoinments were entered. The system time was not
adjusted for the different time zone.

Now the reminders are off by 3 hours. If I change the
system time, all appointments are in error by 3 hours.

Is there a good way to correct the system clock without
creating errors on all of my appointments.

I have considered exporting all of the appointments to a
file, deleting all appointments, then importing the
appointments after resetting the system clock.

This creates problems with recurring events. Fixing the
recurring events would be a lengthy process.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Dan, the two (scheduled appointments and system time) are completely
unrelated. What made you feel you'd have to re-enter anything if you set
the system time (clock) to the correct time?

Imagine this... You tell a person on your staff to remind you of
something at 3:00, but his watch says it's noon. That's your problem.

Correcting his watch doesn't change the fact he's supposed remind you at
3:00.

Nothing in Outlook will change when you configure Windows correctly.
