Changing printer margin

I have an HP Deskjet 870Cse and this has a small printer margin at the top
of a page. I do not see any way to change this printer margin. I want to
print an image in Landscape mode on the page but because of the printer
margin, the image gets moved to the right slightly when I try to fit the
image to the page via the software ( Adobe Acrobat ) taking into account the
printer margin, or gets truncated slightly on the left when I just try to
fit the image to the page without adjusting for the printer margin.

Is there any solution to this problem ? Do more modern printers of various
brands allow one to change the printer margin via software ?

The DeskJet 870 has a top margin of about 0.08" and a bottom margin of 0.46",
required to properly handle the paper. More modern printers allow printing
fully edge to edge.

I think the HP990CSE has the same margins.
