changing my French XP Home to English

Is it possible to up grade to xp pro and change the os base language to
english, basicaly i have just purchased a new laptop i am based in france so
have purchased the hp laptop over here, but my french is not good on a
technical level and could do with changing the os to english so i can
understand and error messages, any ideas how this can be done.

to change the system already it should be possible thru control panel "date,
time, langage and regional options" (got pic of world and calenda) click on
regional and langage options (world again) and see from there.

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
WinXP (in whatever language you want) to perform a clean installation.

That method changes only the input method language settings, not the
entire OS.
