Changing key codes on xp pro systems

I emailed Microsoft customer service with the following scenario. They told
me It was not possible. I don't know if the understood that I have the valid
retail version of the disks in hand. Can someone read the following and tell
me what my options are? Thank you for reading.

I have 2 computers. System 1 has a valid retail copy of XP Pro. System 2 has
a running but invalid copy of XP Pro Corporate. I have removed the valid copy
of XP from System 1 (it will no longer run XP) and would like to use the key
code to replace the invalid key code on System 2 without having to reload the
entire CD so that I do not chance disturbing the rest of the software on the
system.

So, my question is. Can I and how do I proceed to change the good key code,
no longer used in system 1, for the bad key code in system 2 without
reloading the entire package and then registering it. Also, will the message
go away that my software is invalid after the changing of the key code?

Thank you R. This does look like what I had in mind to do. When I look back
at how I posed the question to Microsoft TS It looks like I was suggesting
that I did not want to re-register it. That was not my intent. I was more
concerned with if I could use a XP Pro Key to replace a XP Pro Corporate Key
and if the message (invalid key code) would go away. The message comes, I
believe, as a result of loading an update that cannot be uninstalled. I would
guess Microsoft has a way of removing it once the key code is repaired.
Thanks again
