Help in what?

These days Help uses Internet Explorer to display, so it is the Font Size
setting in IE that controls the display for Help.

The default font size is controlled by your Normal.dot file

In Word 2003, go into the Format Font dialog box.
Change the font to 18.
Click on the Default button.
Click Yes to apply the setting to your Normal.dot file. (this is what SAVES
it)

hope that helps!

It's really no different with Word 2007.

Go to Font on the bottom left of the toolbar and click on the small arrow
in the right bottom corner of that section and mouse click to open the
dialogue window. Select the font you want as default. Click on ht e
Default box in the lower right. "yes" out.

Did exactly that as it states in the help files and its not taking. It also
says do u want to save the document whether i reply yes or no it still does
not take the save. It does for the moment but then when i reopen the
document it is at the old default settings.

Can you make any changes such as the font or page margins for normal
documents? I ask because it sounds as though you Adobe Acrobat Writer
installed or one of the other incompatible add-ins that stop normal.dotx
from being saved.
