Changing file system

I have windows 98SE installed and have used the XP Home upgrade. I decided
to create another partition using Acronis. This partition I now call Backup
(D). I converted it from FAT 32 - NTFS. There was no problems with that as
everything is running ok. My query is, can I convert the system disk (C) to
NTFS without losing any data?
Thank you

Absolutely. Just make sure you really want to do this, the process is
not reversable. Make sure you know the pros and cons of NTFS before you
do it. This NG has seen lots of threads on that theme.

Tools which claim they can convert NTFS to FAT like Partition Magic
often fail during the process.

You can safely convert the partition to NTFS whenever desired,
without having to format the partition and reinstall everything. As
always when performing any serious changes, back up any important data
before proceeding, just in case. A little advance preparation is also
strongly recommended, so you can avoid any performance hits caused by
the default cluster size:

Thank you John, Rick and Bruce for your help. It worked like a charm. No
Data loss. I really appreciate your time in this. Thanks again.
