Changing field names

Hi all
Access 97

I find from trial and error (mainly error) that changing a field name in a
table in a "mature" database (ie one riddled with queries and reports) is
bad news because the field name change does not filter through to queries
and reports automatically. It would seem to me not beyond the wit of man to
design a database program that tracks these through. Is this something that
is improved in later versions of Access?

While the newer versions of Access do provide some relief in that area, it's
not perfect.

Better, in my opinion, is to look into a 3rd part tool to make the changes.

I've personally used Find & Replace (although it's been years since I've
used it). I've got virtually no experience with either of the others.
