Changing DHCP IP Address

We are planning to change the IP adddress of our Network.
We have two domain controlers one running DHCP, DNS and
WINS. In addition I have an exchange 2000 server as a
memeber server. I have created a new scope in DHCP (not
active yet). I am wondering what to expect once I change
the IP address of my domain controllers then all my
memeber servers and finally activate the new scope and de-
activate the old one. I will be reducing the lease time
to a very short duration to ensure they all expire over
the weekend.

Thanks

Dante

It should be OK, but to be safe, I would bind the new IP address as a second
IP addresses on the NIC. Set the lease very short, then deactivate the
scope. When the IP addresses expire, they should pick one from the new
scope.

Hello All,

Assuming that this is a W2K AD domain, make sure your DC's and DNS servers
are registered correctly.

1.)At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and wait for the services to
flush.
2.)ipconfig /registerdns wait for the services to regiser.
3.)net stop netlogon
4.)net start netlogon

Wait 15 minutes for AD to replicate.

Run a netdiag on all DC's and DNS servers to make sure that there is no
problem.
