Changing defaults on template

I am working with a PPT template where the default font colors have been
changed to grey on almost all text options. I need it to be black. I know
how to change some text using the Master slide, but how do I correct the
font color on drawing objects like arrows and the text box.

Create a textbox, format the text the way you want, then right-click and
choose Set Autoshape Defaults.

This will probably make your default autoshape have no line and no fill, so
create an autoshape (rectangle or oval from the drawing toolbar will work
fine), format it, then right-click, choose Set Autoshape Defaults.

See, the default textbox doesn't pick up the line and fill from the
autoshape defaults. That's why you want to do the autoshape after the
textbox. It's not intuitive at all, but it should work.
