Changing default 'save' folder

How do I change the default save folder (my pictures) to another folder that
I have created? I know that I can search for the folder then save but its a
nuisance having to go through 'local disk' -- Documents and settings' --
rob's Docs' -- 'created folder' each time I want to save a picture.

Why not keep saving the pictures in the default My Pictures folder and
afterwards copy them whereever you want !

Some programs just dont remember the last folder we used to save and keep
showing the My Pictures folder. Create a shortcut in My Pictries folder and
point it to the desired location. This allows to browse to it with just a
double-click.
