Changing Default Animation Settings for PPT2002?

T

Trajan

For PPT 2002/XP, the default animation setting is set to "On Click". While
creating a NEW presentation, how do I change this default setting to
X-number of seconds after the previous animation?

Second question - for an existing presentation (over 50 slides), is there a
global way to change ALL "on-click" animations in the presentation, to
X-number of seconds after the previous animation?

Thanks!

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.
Although some defaults can be customized (such as using the Options dialog)
other defaults (such as Paste format, Default settings for Custom Animation
effects, etc.) are built-in and cannot be customized and require manual or
VBA workarounds.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide more control over various default behaviors, settings, etc.
(without have to resort to VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't forget to send
your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Unfortunately, there's no way to do this, either.

But for future presentations, you might want to consider using the animation
schemes or simply apply your animation to the placeholders on the master
slides. That may at least help you speed things along.

In PPT2000, what's an animation scheme? Is this also supported in PPT2002 as
well?

Yep, if only I had remembered to do this two years ago when I first made
this presentation...

Hello,

Animation Schemes are a new feature introduced with PowerPoint 2002. They
are not supported in PowerPoint 2000 and earlier.
