Changing Cat Drivers = No TV

This morning, in order to improve framerates in a newly installed
flight-sim (LOMAC) I upgraded from Cat 3.5 to Cat 3.9 (Radeon 9700
Pro/Win XP Pro). The install went smoothly. (I uninstalled existing
drivers first.) My TV Wonder VE card worked again with Cat 3.9, after
re-installing MMC 7.9. Unfortunately though, I discovered a few hours
later that AA wouldn't work within Grand Prix Legends - a racing
simulation that I use in an online racing league - making the image look
quite bad.

After doing some research, I found that this is a known issue with Cat
3.9. It wasn't a problem with any previous drivers AFAIK.

So, I decided to then go with Cat 3.7, which would still represent
somewhat of an upgrade in drivers. Now, everything works fine within
Grand Prix Legends, but when I installed MMC 8.6 (which the ATI website
suggested be installed with the Cat 3.7 drivers), it wouldn't install
the TV tuner. So, is there some sort of workaround to get the TV Tuner
back? Can I go back to MMC 7.9? Will it work with the cat 3.7 drivers?

Thanks!
Bert

Can't really help with your problem, but just wanted to say I'm running cat
3.7 with mmc 8.5 and everything works just fine.

reinstall the drivers,,, its the only reason, except for your source has no output, or cabling issue. it worked before, you made no
changes except for software drivers.....most likely all your tinkering screwed up the WDM capture driver....which even if you look
at it funny, it'll jack you....

Personally I have settled on Cat 3.7 and MMC8.1 as the combination that
works for me (also a GPL fan). Reason is that I've never been able to get
MMC8.6 to install without some hiccup, and 3.7 seem to be most stable so
far.

The procedure you suggested reinstalled the driver, but it still doesn't show up
on the toolbar. Maybe I'll just re-install and try the 8.1 version (if I can
find it), as suggested by another poster.

BTW -- Yes, I'm using WinXP Pro.

Thanks!
