Change %username%-foldername

Hi, this is our story.

A few months ago we only worked with local-users. This means that the the
path to the profile was:
c:\documents&Settings\MyUsername\

Since e few weeks we have change each user from local to domain-user. A new
profile was created. Unfortunately the username of teh local-users is
identical to the username of the domain-users. This means the the path to the
domain-usres profile is :
c:\documents&Settings\MyUsername.000\

The win XP has put ".000" behind the folderName (pobably because it already
found a profile with the same name as the new user)

I have no problems with deleting the whole local profile (We don't need it
anymore)
However is there a way to adjust the settings for my domain-user-account so
that it won't use MyUsername.000 but MyUsername?

Thx

It shouldn't have worked that way. It should have been;

On a newly-joined-to-the-domain PC if you logon to the pc first, then to the
domain you would end up with two profiles.
%username%
and
%username%.%userdomain%
Else if you logon to the domain first, then to the pc you would end up with
%username%
and
%username%.%computername%

Either case; a bit messy to do what you want. First get rid of the non- .000
local machine profile, then rename the .000 domain profile, then when you
next logon to the domain as the user a new profile will be created for an
image in \default user. Now copy over the items you need from the renamed
000 profile. Copy the folder contents not the folders themselves. Use the
import function of your email software.
