change drive letters

Dan

Help!! I just installed Windows XP Professional, and so
far it's great; however, when I installed it I left my
Zip drive plugged in and XP assigned it the letter "C:"
and my hard drive as letter "F:". Can I change the letter
designations on these two drives without starting over?
If I DO change my hard drive to "C:" will my programs
automatically recognize it? Any help would be
appreciated!!

If your system disk/boot disk has been assigned a letter that letter it will
stay. You might initiate a process of changing every registry reference to
another letter with one of those utility programs that claim to be able to
change the letter but I would not bother.

Instead, in this case, your better bet is to wipe and reinstall - only
remember to keep that zip dive unplugged this time.
