change dhcp client servive timeout

Hi,
is there a way to chenge the time that dhcp client lokk for a dhcp server. I
read on many other forums that this parameter is not settable in the windows
operating system enviroment. Is it true ?

It is not changeable, at least not that I know of. If you don't want
Windows to look for a DHCP server at all, give it a fixed IP address.

Unfortunally I need to enable the dhcp client because the laptop need to
connect to ramdom hot spot or lan infracstructure where a dhcp server is
present.
So you confirm that there is no way to do this.

Isn't the DHCP lease time specified in the DHCP _server_? Check your DHCP
server manual. To learn about DHCP lease time, have a look at:

The lease time can be changed but the OP wants to change the search period,
not the lease time.

Richard is right. I don't need to change the lease time but the time that
the client search for a dhcp server. Seems impossible but I think I'll
surrender
