Change default file view when browsing for a file to thumbnail

Hi is there any way to change the default view to thumbnails.
I do a lot of composing on the internet and when I need to browse my
hard drive for photos I'd like the file explorer to come up with
thumbnails as a default.

See if this helps:
Open either Explorer or MyComputer.
On the Menu bar click Tools > Folder Options View tab.
Scroll down and put a check next to "Remember each folders view settings".
Click Apply > Ok > Ok.
Select any folders with your graphics, on the Toolbar click the dropdown
for Views and select Thumbnails.

If you ever need to use Safe Mode, you may have to reset the Thumbnail
view. Safe Mode breaks a few settings which need your attention after
rebooting to your normal desktop.

If you're talking about windows Explorer, you can use 'Apply to All Folders' from the 'View' tab of
the folder's properties dialog.

If you're talking about the common Open/Save dialog, it defaults to list view for all folders except
My Pictures & it's subfolders. There's no way to change that behavior :-(

I think I am talking about the Open/Save Dialog although there does not
seem to be anything to identify this. The files window is the one that
pops up when one selects the browse button to find a file.
Are there no registry tweaks or ways to use another browse program...it
sure would save us a lot of time?
If not is there a way I could automate the... press "browse", select
"View Menu" dropdown, select "thumbnails". and assign it to a function
key.

Well the File dialogs in FF1.5 and IE6+ are definitely resizable (I just
checked).

Mike, I am looking for a way to change the default file view to
thumbnails not anything to do with resizing

Put the folders you want to browse as thumbnails in the My Pictures folder.
