Change case in headings

I am trying to change my heading titles for my 2nd level headings to all
caps. I have gone to the font dialog box and checked the box "all caps" for
that level heading but the titles still appear in upper/lower case. Do I
need to do something else? Appreciate any help.

After modifying the heading style, try selecting headings (or the
whole document) and pressing Ctrl+SpaceBar (which removes any direct
font formatting). Then update the TOC. Does that fix the problem?

Then update the TOC.

Correction: You should also update the TOC (if there is one).

Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. Thanks for the suggestion. I
certainly welcome any more ideas or suggestions.

I figured it out. I was trying to modify the heading case through the font
dialog box in outline numbering. Apparently it can't be done that way. So I
clicked on Styles and Formatting and modified it there---it worked!

As you've noticed, the Font dialog box accessed via the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog box affects only the outline number (and
text included with the number).
