change alert sound when I receive a new message

When I receive a new message in my inbox my alert sound is really annoying to
me. How do I change the sound that it makes?I have tried going to advanced
email options and this does not appear to be an option for me. Any help,
direction, or advice would be appreciated on this matter. Thank you.

Go to Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and then click on Sounds tab and scroll
to New Mail Notification and then Browse to a different sound file on your
computer.
