Certificate problem

A

Allan Riise

Trying to import my *.pkcs12 certificate used as a digital signature fails
everytime.
That's a big problem as it is used for all correspondance with state and
county, i get my bill's and stuff in to a closed server wich only can be
accesed via that signature.

Can any one help?

The Import Wizard tell's me....

A internal error occured. Either the user profile is not accessible or the
private key that you are importing might require a cryptographic service
provider yhat is not installed on your system.

Via Internet Explorer v.7

Have tryed to implement the software to the key, but even that fails.

So, you have not loaded the CSP associated with the certificate. You *must* have the CSP
installed to import the PFX file. You may have to check with the vendor to get a Vista
supported version of the CSP. What CSP are you using?

Paul,

It is more than too obvious that you have never explored the Posted URL that
not only includes three (3) Links for Vista Certified Certificates; that URL
provides an enormous detailed information regarding Allan's desired outcome.

Wishfully, one of these days, Windows Vista Technology will encompass you...
and then, if you continue faithfully following my Post, that day will occur
very rapid!

Thank you for your faithful obsession and etiquette ,

Run certmgr.msc and import the certificate into the certificates folder
under Trusted Root Authorities. Because IE runs in protected mode you have
to go through a few gyrations to do this from IE. If this doesn't work then
see the post from Brian Komar.

There is no such thing as a Vista Certified certificate. This is
simply yet another term that you've invented.

There is nothing on that page that provides anything more than
marketing information and certainly nothing that helps Allan
with his desired outcome. Allan already has a certificate that
he needs to be able to use. He's not looking to buy a new
certificate, he's trying to be able to use the existing
certificate in Vista. Nothing you have posted to this thread is
in any way helpful or correct. Allan should just ignore you and
concentrate on the replies from Kerry and Brian.

Your repeated demonstration for gross unawareness for Vistaâ??a WPA, PMK,
EAP-TLS or PEAP, BDE, API, and so many other Vista protocols is simply
appalling and entirely disgraceful toward the users of the Forum, and worst
of all; reprehensible toward Microsoftâ??s integrity and reputation!

You haven't a clue what any of these acronyms mean let alone how
to implement them. I, on the other hand, along with my business
partner Brian Komar (who is actually providing useful assistance
in this thread, unlike you), deal with these on a daily basis.

You are not helping anyone here and you are doing nothing more
than embarrassing yourself.

Thx to Paul & Brian.

I've done that, that i've asked for a new certificate from my vendor, wich
also should implement there Thrusted server software, and i'll try ir from
there.

B'cause i could install there server software, but Vista is indefferent any
way i tried to install my own certifacte, wether it was through IE 7 or
through Outlook, they just crash.

I'll be back to tell you if a new clean install can do the job, if not,
there's something for MS to think about.
