Hi!
On a Windows XP Professional SP2 I tried to install an inkjet printer
but the installation was unsuccessful and the printer setup program
reported an error.
At the end of the "%windir%\setupapi.log" file there can be found the
following message (I wrapped the lines as they were quite long):
----------------------------------------------------------------------
[2005/07/26 16:28:04 2060.5]
#-198 Command line processed: "C:\SWSetup\Canon PIXMA iP4000\WIN2000\PRINTER\E16\DISK0\SETUP.EXE"
SOFTWARE\CANON\MSETUP4\VOL_UNKNOWN
#W239 The driver signing class list "C:\WINDOWS\INF\certclas.inf" was missing or invalid.
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.
Assuming all device classes are subject to driver signing policy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The "C:\WINDOWS\INF\certclas.inf" file is really missing.
Is there a way to fix that?
I tried to set the driver signing options to
"Ignore - Install the software anyway and don't ask for my approval"
but it didn't help with the problem.
