certain PPT2003 animations do not smooth in PPT2007

I find that certain animations created in PPT 2003 when viewed on a PC
with PPT 2007 installed do not run smothly and take their own sweet
time in appearing and they appear a bit jerky. At first i thought
that this was due to machine power (read RAM) but this is not the case
at all - as the same occurs on dual core PCs with 1 GB RAM too

Any solutions or workarounds or patches available for this ?

Hi perfection,
Let me apologize in advance if i might not answer your question.
Does the jerky appearance of the animation appear only on a certain
animation???..
Have you tried checking the box on the animation effects for "Smooth Start"
and "Smooth end"?.

It happens on certain entry animations such as wheel and has nothing
to do with smooth start and smooth stop - as those are used for
emphasis type of animations

I'm afraid "smooth start" and "smooth end" is also present in entrance, exit
and motion paths..

Smooth start and end is only there in motion animations (including some
entrance / exits with motion eg fly in)

It has nothing to do with the jerkiness of animations but makes the motion
start / end more slowly similar to ease in/out in other programs. It may
even make jerkiness worse as there is more processing going on.

There does seem to still be some bugs with animation in 2007 that cause this
especially if you choose animate by word.?

Can you let me know exactly what the animation is and I'll check it out.

Regards John

Yes you're right animating by word or letter with elays looks realy
bad on screen John especially when i playback an Office 2003 created
presentation oon Office 2007. Suprisingly, the viewer does a better
job (i wonder why?). However i can't always use the viewer as it does
not playback inserted swf files inserted into the presentation.

Regarding jerky entry animationscould you please give me some hints to
avoid them. Shall i shut off hardware acceleration and other sytenm
bar programs like my Anti-virus for moire processing power. I have a
centrino duo with 1 GB RAM so obviously processing power is not a
problem ?

Believe me the same animation has NO jerkiness at all when replayed
using Office 2003 on a lower end computer compared to my (read my
friends laptop)
This jerkiness is limited only to the first entrance of an object on
my slide and THAT TOO WHEN IT SAYS AFTER PREVIOUS.

The around is to add a 0.5second delay to the after previous entrance
and then all is fine

But how do i handle dissolve in or typewriter in by word or alphabet
other than avoiding them?? (in MSO 2007)
