I will reword my question I have a spreadsheet it is set up as our skid
racking:
A1 (rack spot) A2 (rack spot)
A10 Product # B10 Product #
A11 Units B11 Units
A12 Description B12 Description

And so on.Is it possible to track the changes made to each rack spot so when
a change is made it will be recorded. But I need it to track a change in any
of the descriptions above.I look forward to your response. Thanks

hi Wayne,
what your seem to want is what is usually called a product history. Most
computer systems have them as a standard report and is the core of inventory
control.
it is possible to track changes made but you haven't supplied enough
information.
In your sample data, i assume that the change would be on the units. from
that cell, what would be copied(number of cells above and below, left and
right?) and where would it be pasted. computers get real picky about things
like that.
to be meaningful, most histories have the following data...
date of tranaction
product number
product description
transaction qty
Location(rack spot?)

I am in and out of newsgroups all day depending on what other things i have
to do. post back and i'll see what i can do for you.

FST1 thanks for your reply.
Where I work I do the inventory there are 324 rack spots.I do the inventory
once a week. All week I`m logging inventory in & out all the time. There are
several products that go on hold but sometimes go missing.Possibly shipped to
an order. All rack spots change all the time its time consuming tracking all
movment on paper somtimes I need to go back as far as 30 days.I would like to
have a seperate workbook that will track the changes for me.What I would like
is for every movment in rack spot A1 it would keep a record under the rack
spot header A1 and so on.I would like it to appear like this:

A1
Product #, Date Changed,Units,Description,Rake Spot

The rack spot never changes but the others change all the time. Each rack
spot has 5 cells: Product #
Descriptiom
Units
Date Made
Comments

Thanks for your help.

hi wayne,
help me. i need to know how your data is layed out. I need to know what to
copy to create the history. read my last post. I have no idea how many
transactions you have daily so i was planning it stacking the various
transactions. you can then sort or filter. and it might be better to track by
product number. rack spots don't disappear....but inventory does.
