CD-RW's

I am using Nero InCD. CD-R's work fine. Some CD-RW's work
fine as drag and drop. Other CD-RW's do not appear and
when opening My COmputer, it opens blank and My Computer
is Not Responding. I tried a couple of different CD-RW's
and they don't work. I can't get to them to format.

If you are using InCD version 3 (bundled OEM with Nero
5.5) you can upgrade to InCD version 4 for free, at
http://www.nero.com/us/nero-up.php

Just download piece III and it will install onto the
legal copy of Nero. When the install program runs, the
actual serial number will be located by the installer -
copy it down, because if you want to purchase the entire
Nero Ultra 6 as an upgrade, you will need the number to
start the download from the Web site. The full version
has a backup utility.

Microsoft has a backup utility that is on the WinXP
intall CD. Knowledge Base Article 302894.
Also, KBA 314060 if suddenly, the CD-RW drive is no
longer listed as a drive.

I just went through similar problems with InCD, the newer
software is native to WinXP.
