now im sure this could partially be my fault, in fact, im quite sure
but i figure you guys are the ones to ask... i have a dell 4600c
with a panasonic (matshita) UJDA360 slim 24x cdrw.. one day i
stopped burning cds, for whatever reason, so i went for a firmwar
upgrade, and it still wasnt working,.. well, when trying to correc
the problem, i removed easy cd creator 5, along with the drivers fo
the cdrw. well, now, for some reason the drive itself does not eve
come up in "my computer" i cant run d:\ or anything . i dont kno
how it would just disappear, even if i just wanted to use it as
rom, a should be able to right? anyone that can help my compute
re-recognize my drive it would be much appreciated. thank you i

have you considered that the drive might just be dead and need replaced?

Have you tried to disable or uninstall in device manager. Then reboot and
see if windows will recognize and reinstall it. If that doesn't work it is
probably a dead soldier.
