CD Rom...Help!

I have a CD rom drive that plays data & music CD's...however when I put a
blank disc in to either back or copy to the CD rom drive does not recognise
the disc.When I click on the relevent CD drive it tells me to insert a
cd!!!....what am I doing wrong???

You do not mention that this is a CD Burner. This would be normal if it is
not a CDRW. You just can't copy stuff to the cd if it is not a CD burner.

Yes sorry...silly me,I have a Sony CD-RW, the software i have for it
is:Spressa win on Cd and Just audio 2.43 which i have reloaded but...when i
open Win on Cd I get a message saying:Target system OS not supported.

When I open Just audio i get a message saying:SCSI error, no host adapter
found, then when i click on that it says: No Cd recorder found. I do not know
if you know of this software.
