CD-ROM drive not being recognised

Not sure if this problem should be listed here - so sorry if I am in the
wrong area!

I have an XP Pro machine, which has been used with other profiles before,
and now that I have begun to use it with my profile, it is no longer
recognising the CD-ROM drive! I have tried sharing the CD drive on another
computer and mapping the network drive to try and install the drivers this
way, but it is still not working. Also I have tried searching the web for
these drivers, but unfortunately cannot! Also because this isn't working, I
cannot insert the XP installation disk and start from the beginning again!
The CD ROM is called: TSSTcorp CD-ROM SH-C522C

Can anyone help?

Thank you very much!

Steph

If you mean that your cdrom drive is no longer showing up when you open
MyComputer then go here for the fix
www.dougknox.com select WinXP fixes scroll rt column to Restore
Cd/Dvd drives to Explorer.
