Take a look at this link: http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm
Look in section 8, Problems, "“My CD drives have vanished (from
Explorer, Device Manager, etc.)”

Hi,

Restore CD/DVD in Explorer (Line 382) Right Hand Side:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If that doesn't help and should:

CD Rom or DVD Disappeared after an upgrade to WinXP

Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the
following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to the branch indicated above, locate
the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values. Right click each and select
Delete.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Rock,

Great to see you here. Have been so busy as of late. Hope all is going
well for you and yours.)

Hi Kelly, thanks, good to see you too. When aren't you ever busy..lol?
I actually haven't been on much since the middle of June. Did a clumsy
thing, slipped and broke multiple bones in the ankle. Did a good number
on it too...lol. Had surgery and all, and was staying during recovery
where I couldn't get online much. Just came back back home and things
are definately looking up. Same to you and yours Kelly.

What a great and unexpectedly quick reply!)

And ouch! Sorry to hear that. How painful that type of injury can be.
With secondary comments, my youngest; Kade, broke something or the other via
the ankle sliding into second base via his high school team last year.
Though it didn't require surgery, he did have internet access while
recovering!)

As for my time.....I give it when and where I can daily and always. What
scares me, is if the day comes that I can make a date for myself....I
wouldn't know what to do.)

Thanks for your wishes and hope being home is comforting.
