CD drive not working

I have been trying to download some music CD's,...I insert the CD, and then I
get the message to "insert a CD" and that the D drive is empty. Very
frustrating. I've checked under "My Computer...and it says the same thing
for drive D.

BTW, when the CD is inserted, the light is flashing as normal.

"Download" is an internet term - commonly.
When you say you "... have been trying to download some music CD's ..." <-
do you mean "rip them using Windows Media Player"?

I didn't give myself the username Cluless for no reason, Shenan! I don't
know....is that what I'm trying to do when I'm trying to move music from a CD
to my hard drive...is that what "ripping" is? It sounds so, so....violent!
heh heh! It has worked excellently previously.

Anyway....I am just baffled by the fact that there IS a CD in the drive, yet
it says the CD drive is empty.

I guess "download" is what I did when I bought tracks off the internet, right?
