Hi

I am having a requirement to burn a data cd from my
application.Application is in C++.
I found a way to burn cds in WinXP but for windows 2000 no API's are
available. Is there any way i can burn cd in windows 2000.
It will be just simple data writing to cd. I was not able to find any
cd burning process on net.
Please suggest if anyone having some idea regarding this.

W2k has no native CD burning capability. You must use a 3rd party app.
Nero is one example, but not free unless provided with a CDRW device.

I get many google hits searching for CD BURNER FREEWARE

In my expierence most freeware burners suck badly. I eventually found a
nice, simple one. called burnatonce. It's basicly a VB wrapper around
the unix (linux?) burn library and licenced under the GNU public
licence. Pay if you're comercial, free if an individual.

It won't do anything fancy, but it actually works.
