Categorize messages after finding related messages

I use the "related messages" feature often to find all of the messages in a
thread. When I do this, it opens an Advanced Find window, and in that
window, I cannot select categories for those messages (which I would like to
do, because all the messages in that thread apply to the same category). So,
I have a couple of options to address this problem: 1) fix the problem with
categories, but I don't know how to fix it; 2) use the right mouse button
menu after selecting all the messages, but "categories" is not in that menu -
is there a way to customize that menu? Any thoughts? Any assistance is
appreciated.

Depending on your Outlook version, in the Advanced Find window you may click
on File/Store as search folder. Then go to the search folder, and categorize
the items. When that's done, you might choose to delete the folder.
