Our old version of Outlook allowed us to enter unlimited numbers of
categories. Has anyone found a way to do add them in? The old ones will
display, but we had numerous categories, breaking contacts into different
mailing lists, etc. The new version has a few "colors" and that's about it.
Or would some type of contact manager be a better route for us? We have
4,000+ contacts. Thank you.

Did you use right-click the root of the data store, select Properties and
choose "Update to Color Categories"?

Additionally to Brian, what you see in the first place are just some default
categories. You might delete them. Brian's tip helps you to get the old
categories to the new Master Category List.

And if you click the Categorize button, there's a button at the bottom
called "All Categories". Click that to enter more categories.
