Case PSU

I'm building a computer with these specifications and would like to
know what any of you think about possible issues: (Part number is
included in parentheses after description.)

CPU: AMD Athlon64 4000+ (ADA4000BNBOX)
Mobo: Asus A8N-SLI Premium (A8N-SLI Premium)
RAM: 2 1GB sticks of Transcend DDR400 (TS128MLD64V4J)
Video: Sapphire Radeon X850 PCIe 256MB (100128)
DVDRW: (ND-3520A SV)
Floppy: (SFD321B/LBL1)
Case: Silver Case. 5 fans. 500W PSU(ATXA8NW-SS/500)

I'm most concerned about the included PSU. A few friends have told me
not to trust Aspire. Has anyone had any problems with it?

Well they are over-rated, junk relative to most name-brand
500W PSU. For above parts, you'd be better off seeking a
case that's cheaper because it came without PSU then buying
a decent name-brand instead.

Okay, thank you.
Do you think that I could survive for about a month on the PSU provided
in the case while I get another paycheck to pay for an Antec?

Maybe... yeah if it can run the system under the stress
tests that you should do to confirm proper operation then it
should hold out for general use for a month, "usually" but
then it's not like people try to do that so YMMV.
Personally I'd just wait the extra month before buying the
parts, since the board and CPU may've gone down in price in
the interim too. Considering they might cost less and a
case without PSU may too, it might not even be that much
more expensive.

I would think that the psu would do until you buy an Antec. But why do
you want an SLI capable board when you are using a ATI chipset card
which isn't. Unless you are planning to upgrade in a year why not save
money and buy the non-SLI board.
