case fan speed on motherboard A7V600

I have installed a case fan to the connector on the motherboard ASUS A7V600.
The bios version is 1005. In the hardware monitor, the fan is detected for a
few second on, than off.
Is a problem of the bios or is a mulfunction of the motherboard ?

Thanks

No, this is a *chronic* Asus problem with whoever writes their BIOS files,
along with the default video STILL set at PCI. Maybe they just haven't
bothered to look at that part of the code in a while.

Anyway, someone at Asus seems to think that everyone is still using a
6,800RPM, 60mm, hair-dryer fan. And they check the CPU fan speed
immediately upon POST, so fans that take a second to spin up to speed will
wake up the Asus hall monitor so she can yell at you.

Also, if your fan spins at less than 2,000RPM, BIOS may not report it as
spinning, or it will show on-and-off readings, as you're seeing.

I'm using an adjustable-speed Enermax 92mm fan on my SLK947U heat sink, set
at around 2,100RPM, so it's VERY quiet, but still very effective. Fans this
large take a few seconds to spin up, but the Asus bee-atch complains about
the CPU fan each time. I shut her off.
