cardfile.exe cannot be associated with .crd files

I like using the old cardfile.exe program for storing small units of
information.

I had the .crd file associated with the old cardfile.exe and it worked fine
until the installation of sp2. Then the association disappared and double
clicking on the file causes the file-association panel to pop up.

XP will *NOT* let me reassociate .crd with cardfile.exe no matter what I do.

Any suggestions?

What error message do you get?

I just recently associated .CRD files with Carffile and had no
difficulties, so at least we know it can be done in SP2.

No error message.

It just doesn't show up as the associated program.

I finally got it to work by using the "advanced" option and typing in an
action ("run") and the program "c:\program files\cardfile\cardfile.exe"

Thanks for the help. You showed that it was possible, I just had to find
the "trick."
