caps lock problems

My new XP PC just started using all capitals or all Lower case, no matter how the caps lock is set. I will be typing along and all of the sudden all Caps, then all lower case even if you hit the shift key. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how the heck do you fix it? Please help this computer dummy. Thanks.

First try with a different keyboard to be sure it isn't hardware. If the
same issue occurs, please repost.

Sounds like he's turned on Sticky Keys, invoked by pressing SHIFT five
times, but unfortunately, clicking Cancel on the confirmation dialogue
doesn't turn them off!

Control Panel->Accessibility Options and uncheck all the boxes on the
Keyboard tab, then click each of the Settings buttons and uncheck "Use
Shortcut" on each of the dialogues that appears.
