Hi Kmilberg, ( please try one solution a time and Reboot)
You have Java corrupted file on your system, try to Intstall the Latest Java
from here:
http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp
Then if no joy try to Remove the MS JVM and install it again on your system,
to that go to the Add/Remove in the Control Panel and Check the Show Updates
is selected and scroll down to JVM and Uninstall, Reboot then Install JVM and
see if your issue solved.
If no avail try to Uninstall IE6 read this article from here:

Hope this helps

I tried reinstalling and it didn't work. Its important to note, this
problem is not isolated to IE. Excel doesn't display properly, neither
does MS Project and MS Word crashes constantly. Either non-ms products
also have funky display issues, such as the Palm Desktop and even
producs such as Norton and Adware do not display properly, which makes
it almost impossible to use these tools. I even tried to restore the
system back to a checkpoint of 3 weeks ago, and that did not work
either. Should I just throw out this laptop, it is only 6 months old,
but I need to work..... If it was just the Internet, firefox and
Netscape both work just fine, don't need IE, but seems that there is
something broken in XP causing all these issues, most of which started
after I downloaded a free copy of MS Project last Thursday...

Hi:

I've been following this thread very carefully, as I've had the same
problems as Nawal. I did everything you said, and I'm still having the
display problems.
One thing I noticed, as in one of your posts you wanted us to

regsvr32 msjava.dll, among other dll's

On my system, I get "Load Library ("msjava.dll") failed - the specified
module could not be found. Is this my problem and if so, how do I fix
it??
Tx in advance for all your help and good advice!

Try uninstall MS Project Software and see if that will reduce the isssue to
limited causes.
Then do a Repair from the Recovery Console with your CD.
On how to use the Recovery console read this article from MS:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;es-xl;307654
Please be patient, don't let these dummies beat you, just make them follow
orders! >:) take adeep breath and concentrate.
Hope this helps
Please write back with your findings.
Best of luck

P.S if nothing worked Clean installation is best option.

i can browse the internet with no problem with firefox !
help plz

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/26.html

5. If you are using WinXP try this:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

6. See Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 may display a blank Web page
after you select Auto-Select encoding
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870863

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (msconfig for WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk' ("Expand File" for WinXP).
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 (i386 for WinXP) folder of your installation CD-ROM
(typically D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs (Windows\i386 for
WinXP) folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System (C:\Windows\System32
for WinXP), and click OK. System File Checker (or msconfig) looks for the
file, saves it as you requested, and then tells you that 'the file has been
successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.
