Hello everyone,

Firstly, I have to say I use winxp professional. I was infected with win32.welchia worm and removed it with the tool from Symantec. The problem is now I can't connect to a website, chat or use the internet at all while the DNS Client service is turned on(the file svchost.exe as a Network Service is running). As soon I End Process of svchost.exe -Network Service or I stop the DNS Client from the Services window my internet is back on. I connect to the Internet through a LAN card. If anyone can help me solve this I'll appreciate it. Thank you.

What *is* the problem? If the internet works without DNS Client enabled,
leave it turned off. Instead of caching DNS locally, your browser (or
router) will communicate with your ISP's DNS servers to resolve web URLs.

Yep, I have already disabled it and it works fine. Perhaps posting here was not necessary at all but I'm new to XP. Thanks Sharon.

No problem, Lubo. I was just trying to figure out what it was that you
wanted to do and if I could help. I remember being new to XP too. Coming
from a Win9x/ME background, many things seemed foreign and strange simply
because they were presented differently. Please don't hesitate to ask
questions whenever you need to. I didn't mean to make you feel
uncomfortable and I apologize if that is what happened.
