Can't use browser

The person can get through to the intranet, but can't use browser going to
the Internet. I receive an error message saying (The connection was refuse
when attempting to contact info,Netscape.com)

Any help would be appreciated.

We also have a similar problem that we can't get fixed. I originally posted
12/16/04.

With IE I can open it up but can't use the Web browser.

It's giving me an error message saying The system file is not suitable for
running MS-dos and Microsoft Windows applications. close to terminate the
application.

It will go to the intranet not the internet. So it goes to the Homepage
which is the intranet. But when I try and go to Yahoo or Google it says I
can't get into this Website. Even If I try to change the homepage to Google
or Yahoo, it won't take.

Can anyone please let me know what the problem is?

Windows version is 2000

also

when I open tools-Internet options-connections-and when I try to open up Lan
settings It's completely Grayed out. I should be able to open up lan settings
and change things if I choose too, But it's completely grayed out-Why?6.0 IE.

Possible malware infection? Or you have installed internet provider software
that has locked you out. Please advise if the latter is applicable.
