Can't Update

When I try to update spyware definitione I get the following error message:

Windows Defender was unable to complete the update
0x80004002 No such interface supported

Is there a solution for this?

Hello Etoa,

Have you tried going to Windows Update and checking for available updates?
Gº to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates), and apply
all offered updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

Further to Engel`s advice. You might like to take a look at the thread;

Sorry, I just got the machine back from repair and they assured me that all
updates had been loaded. However, I found that was not the case. I loaded
the updates and that appears to have solved the problem.
