Can't Update laptop BIOS - no permissions?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 8600 and decided to look for a BIOS update after I
installed Vista B2. I was able to download the update just fine. However,
when I try to run it, it tells me that I must be logged in as an
Administrator. My local account is an administrator so I'm not sure what the
deal is. I am thinking that it may have something to do with the fact that
running a BIOS update interacts with the system but so far have not found a
way to actually log in AS ADMINISTRATOR even after I turn on the secure
(Ctrl-Alt-Del) login configuration.

Does anyone have any ideas or similar problems?

As a further note, I DID assign a password to the Administrator account and
ENABLED it before I tried to login. I also have no problems running other
executables.

Wel, that worked... Sort Of. The application runs in Safe Mode but it can't
tell that my AC Adapter and my battery are in place and won't run without
them. So, I guess, I solved one problem, to discover another one. Thanks
for the tip though.
