I have been tring to get rid of
this logon screen and go straight into my desktop when I
turn on my computer. I DONT have a password and my
guest accounts are not turned on. But I still have to
stop at this screen and click on an icon. I was fine
untill I did the The last five Windows XP updates last
Friday night. I can not figure out how to turn this off.
can someone help me?
Thanks Rich

How many accounts appear on the login screen and is this the blue welcome
screen or is it a log in box at the desktop?

Just 1 account on the blue welcome screen. If I go to
user accounts in the control panel there are 3, mine, the
one with my name on it. a guest, which it turned off and a
third one that says, ASP.NET Machine A...Limited account
Password Protected. Don't know what it's for or came
from. But I was fine untill I did the 5 last update Fri.
night. Thanks for tring to help me. Please continue..

You can try deleting the ASP.NET account, three should be an option to do so
in User Accounts in Control Panel when you click ASP.NET and see if that
resolves it. If not, you might try using System Restore to take you back to
a time prior to when this began last Friday. Start\All
Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

I Tried System Restore, that was the first thing I
tried,Told me there was nothing to restore.I was going to
try to delete it but it showed me a small list of things
that may not work, So I was a little nerves on doing
that.Maybe If I turn off the passcode For it?
Thanks Rich

I Just tried to delete the passcode, and made it so it's
not a limited account. That didn't work either.Do you
think deleting it will work? Do you know what this is a
where it came from? Did it maybe come from one of the
windows update I made on Friday? It was working ok before
that. Thanks again Rich.

Mike I just found the Problem. I tried a system restore
again. It brought me back to the right spot. I check the
windows updates and it took 2 off my computer. 1 was
updating windows media player, the other was some
something called , Microsoft.NET Framework version 1.1, I
updated the media player and left the other one off, it's
a 23mb file. And now IT WORKS!! no more logon!! And that
ASP account is gone. This .NET Framwork thing does
something. May be others have done the same thing, and
have same problem. Thanks again Rich.....
